People arrested in Beatty, Nevada are taken to the Sheriff’s Substation for booking. Also called the Nye County Detention Center-Central Area Sub Station, the Beatty Jail is a small holding facility with only eleven beds.Inmates have usually been charged with such offenses as drug crimes, battery domestic violence, shoplifting, or DUI.

1. Where is the Beatty Jail?

Beatty Jail is located in the left side of the building that houses the Beatty Justice Court. The address of the Beatty Jail is:

Note that people incarcerated at the Beatty Jail who cannot get bailed out or who are serving lengthy sentences will be moved to the Tonopah Jail at 101 Radar Rd., Tonopah, NV 89049. Their phone number is (775) 482-7358.

2. How do I find an inmate?

Search for Beatty Jail inmates online or call the jail at (775) 553-2345. Currently there is no online search option.

3. What are the bail procedures?

The Beatty Sheriff’s Substation is open 24 hours a day to take bail. You may post cash bail or use a bondsman. The list of acceptable bail bondsmen changes on a daily basis. Call the Beatty District Court at (775) 553-2951 for the names of acceptable bail bondsmen.

4. What are the visiting hours?

Beatty Holding Facility inmates may receive visits anytime from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., but call the jail ahead of time at (775) 553-2345 to make sure the jail is not in lockdown.

All visits are conducted through the glass. It is recommended that you call ahead of time to schedule a visit or to schedule a visit online.

5. Can I phone an inmate?

Beatty Holding Facility inmates are not allowed to receive incoming calls. However, they are given opportunities through the week to place outgoing collect calls.

6. Can I send mail to an inmate?

Postcards are the only mail that inmates may receive in the Beatty Jail. The mailing address is:

7. How do I put money on an inmate’s books?

Call the Beatty Sheriff’s Substation at (775) 553-2345 for instructions. Usually you can come by with money in person at 426 “C” Avenue, Beatty, NV 89003.

You can also transfer money using JailATM. Otherwise send money through the mail to Beatty Jail, P.O. 805, Beatty, NV 89003.

Note that the Beatty Holding Facility has no commissary because it is so small. However, inmates may authorize a law enforcement officer to use the money in their accounts to buy them food, toiletries or stationery from the local drugstore.

8. How do I get property released?

Beatty Jail inmates may release their property to you as long as they fill out a release form. Call the Beatty Jail at (775) 553-2345 for instructions.

9. What if an inmate gets sick?

The Sheriff’s Substation does not keep healthcare workers on staff. Inmates in need of medical assistance are taken to a local hospital.
